| My symptoms sometimes are almost non existent at times, so that sometime I think my I.B.S. is a figment of my imagination. But, that has only been in the last six months when I add one half teaspoon into the room temp. water (it always is coming out of the cold tap in Florida ;-)that I put my dry oatmeal in then and microwave. So, have to put it down to the fact that it is really making a difference. | I find that I need to include some insoluble fiber along with the soluble. Soluble only doesn't work for me due to my particular issues. | |||||
| I have been using a generic Metamucil fiber supplement that includes 1g INsoluble fiber along with 2g of soluble fiber. I have issues regarding swallowing large volumes of water, which is required. I swallow too much air, and that is a problem. So I tried the Acacia Senegal because not as much water is needed to ingest it. I find that I need the insoluble fiber to help with motility issues as well as a product that softens (soluble.) Soluble alone does not work well. I eat a variety of fiber (foods) throughout each day and drink liquids as well. | |||||

| I am not sure about this one. I took it as soon as I received it and at the same time I had a week of loose stool. So I stopped everything - took imodeum (sp?) and went two days without eating anything. That seemed to work until today. I was careful what I ate but it seem like the intestine builds up over days and then has a day of flush. This includes the gas and pain. | I got food poisoning a few years ago and haven't been the same since. I've tried all sorts of fiber supplements/food and some worked while others made my symptoms worse. Recently diagnosed with SIBO and put on a low fodmap diet. It's helping to some extent. A Godsend has been Heather's IBS Diet Cheat Sheet. While I still have some issues with the soluble fibers on the list, definitely the insoluble and trigger foods I had real big problems. It's been an uphill battle, but the Tummy Fiber seems to be helping out. Definitely better than Metamucil. | |

| I read page 3 and found my solution. I have been to several specialists and doctors over the last 40 years or more and each one knew I had had my gallbladder removed. Not one of them put 2 and 2 together. I immediately tried your suggestion of cholestyramine and it worked the first day. Thank you so much for seeing the obvious. | It is all a lot to swallow at first but I have taken it slowly. I got this way after many years , so I am giving myself adequate time to heal. The education in the reading material is very thorough. The teas and powder are wonderful. So lucky to have found you totally by accident. I sorely miss coffee. But then I remember how stressful this all has been so I trade coffee, wine, cheese ... for healthier lifestyle. I have certain questions that have come up.
