Best thing I ever purchased
This powder really works folks. Since beginning taking it I have not had any pain in my lower intestine. Everything is natural now. No strain, no pain. And it only took three days to start working. Start out with a tsp and gradually go up to a tad over one tbsp. Mix it with a fork and let it rest while you do something else. Then drink it down. It has no taste but I promise it works!

It's the only product that works. And even that isn't perfect!
I've used this product for several years. It helps. I also take other soluble fiber tablets each day & eat as much soluble fiber as possible but still have issues nearly every day. One thing about the product I dislike is that each can or container is different; in that, has a different consistency and sometimes is nearly impossible to stir and dissolve in liquid. It's very odd. The container I have now is great and dissolves perfectly. The last 2 I had were terrible.

There are two kinds of fiber, insoluble and soluble. Insoluble is a stimulant and can set off IBS symptoms, and if you have strictures it can cause intestinal blockages.

Soluble fiber won't do that - it can't. It's not a stimulant, it's a bowel motility regulator. It can't cause blockages, diarrhea, or constipation, but it also will not help you until you gradually work up to enough of it in your gut, 24/7, to regulate motility. In the meantime, everything else will keep impacting your gut and you will likely keep fluctuating day to day. The tummy fiber is 100% soluble fiber, it can't make anything worse, but it also will not help you with just the first dose or two, or first few days or two. For constipation, it likely won't help the first week or two either. This is because you are starting at a low dose that won't do anything at all, it is just to get your gut used to more fiber gradually. All fibers are indigestible, so you always want to increase fiber slowly and steadily,

Do not skip doses, do not jump your dose up and then down and then up and then down, do not skip days - none of this will work. This is a process, it can't be erratic, it takes some time and patience, and you have to follow the process consistently, day in and day out, or soluble fiber will not do what you want it to do.

You need to start with just ½ teaspoon twice daily and then gradually increase. Add an extra ½ teaspoon to just one of your doses, every 3-4 days. So add an extra ½ teaspoon to your morning dose, wait 3-4 days and then add an extra ½ teaspoon to your evening dose, wait 3-4 days and then increase your morning dose again, etc. You'll keep following that pattern and gradually work up to the dose your gut needs for normal motility. A rough average final dose for diarrhea is 1-3 Tablespoons per day total, for alternating diarrhea/constipation probably 2-3 Tablespoons per day total, and constipation a likely 3-5 Tablespoons per day total. That shows you the huge dose range, and also how far you will likely have to increase from the starting dose of just ½ teaspoon twice a day.

The fiber cannot make anything worse, but again, until you gradually work up to enough of it in your gut, it won't help you either, because it has to reach the point where it can control your bowel motility. You just will not have enough of it in your gut to affect you at all until you have worked your way far enough into the process.

I will tell you candidly it will probably take you a few months to work up to the dose you would need to resolve chronic constipation, and in the meantime you'll still have symptoms, and you may need to use laxatives if you're already doing that. You should see improvements kick in as you gradually get your dose up around 3 tablespoons per day total, and then you'd keep gradually increasing until you feel stable day and day out. You can't just jump to this dose though - fiber does not work that way. I wish it did! But you have to gradually get your gut used to more fiber, and then reach the point you need for motility regulation. Once you hit that you stay at whatever that dose is, morning and evening, as soluble fiber literally only works when it is physically present in your gut.

Seems to have made a big difference.
I've been using this can of loose soluble fiber for about 3 weeks. Just about 1 teaspoon a day mixed in with yogurt or cereal. And I've stopped hurting and no longer have loose stools. This is coinciding with all home cooked meals, and more walking during stay at home pandemic times, which might also contribute to my gut settling down, but I think the daily soluble fiber and occasional fennel tea are really helping. I was miserable a month ago with gut pain and diarrhia.

Hi Lynn - I'm so sorry you just had an attack. I hope you are feeling better soon. The tummy fiber is not meant to stop an attack. It is a preventative, and you have to start at a low dose twice daily, gradually increase, and keep slowly increasing until you reach the point where you are stable, and not having attacks. The fiber only works when there is enough of it in your gut to gently force normal motility, and that will prevent attacks from happening.

If you are suddenly hit hard and need immediate help, that's when you need to go to the peppermint tummy tea (for pain, spasms, cramps, urgency) or the fennel tummy tea (for bloating and gas). The teas work very quickly to calm your gut and stop symptoms. The fiber is a daily process and you have to gradually work up to a high enough dose to actively keep your gut calm and prevent symptoms, it is not something you can just take as needed in the midst of an attack as it unfortunately won't work that way. It won't hurt at all, but it won't work the way you are wanting it to.

IT IS WORKING!
My IBS runs from severe diarrhea to constipation and I have despaired of being normal again. But this stuff is working. It is a slow process, building up to being able to take enough to alleviate symptoms, but I am up to a tablespoon a day and my constipation is sloooowly disappearing and I am comfortable again. I have had NO DIARRHEA since I began the regimen and NO CRAMPING! And I am back to successfully eating sourdough bread (my problem is not gluten even though I have been off it for 3+ years on the advice of my gastroenterologist). Even though initially the acacia and the increased soluable fiber bound me up even worse, I have been able to adjust my insoluble fiber intake to begin to return to normal.

6 weeks on and definitely noticing change for the better

Hi Rita - I'm so sorry to hear this. The fiber can't cause cramping or diarrhea, soluble fiber is only a motility regulator. But - you also have to have enough of it in your gut to work, and you have to get to that dose gradually. The normal ½ teaspoon twice daily starting dose won't do anything - it's just to get your gut used to more fiber. Then you gradually increase from there - adding an extra ½ tsp to one of your daily doses, every 3-4 days. Lower doses won't make things worse, but they also won't stop diarrhea or prevent other triggers from hitting your gut hard. An average daily dose for diarrhea typically ends up about 1-2 tablespoons per day. Please keep me posted!

Wait 3-4 days and then increase your other dose by an extra ½ tsp. Follow that process, go slow and steady, and as you gradually get your fiber dose up it should resolve the frequent BMs. If you go too quickly that can cause gas, so that means drop your dose and go more gradually with increases. Hi Glenda - I'm so sorry you are having trouble. Please know that the Tummy Fiber cannot cause diarrhea (or constipation). It is just 100% soluble fiber, which is a bowel motility regulator. It does have to be used twice daily, and you have to start at a low dose and increase gradually. You continue to increase gradually until you reach the dose you need in your gut to keep motility stable. That may be several teaspoons to several tablespoons per day, total. But you can't start at the dose you'll end up needing to reach, you have to start low and increase gradually.

You may get or continue to have diarrhea until are able to get your fiber dose up to the level you need. It's not a drug, so it will not work overnight. You should see improvements as your dose increases, and then complete resolution of the diarrhea as you continue. Unfortunately, you can't rush the process.

Hello David - I'm so sorry to hear this. Please do make sure that were using the fiber twice daily, and that you started at a low dose of just 1/2 teaspoon twice daily but gradually increased that every few days. For diarrhea you may have to gradually work up to 1-3 Tablespoons per day total, but if you resolve at a lower dose then just stay there. If you gradually worked up your dosage but just saw no improvements at all, please check in with your GI doc as that could be a red flag for something other than IBS. If this is the case please return the fiber for a full refund, open or not, no time limits at all. If you have dosage questions please just let me know.

I am having great results with the powder at just 1/2 tsp. daily so far. I have IBS -C. i used the powder years ago but was on drugs for the IBS that caused more constipation. I believe it didn't help because I was on the drugs the doctor was giving to me for the IBS symptoms. I am going up slowly as I am a very hypersensitve person. I am also getting great results being treated the last four years with Homeopathic remedies. I am going to school to become a homeopathic practitioner and plan to help others who have IBS. I was able to get off the pharmaceutical drugs because of homeopathic remedies. Will continue using the soluble fiber as it causes no bloating at all, I cannot use the peppermint as it will antidote homeopathic remedies in some people. Maria

Hi Marianne - the Tummy Fiber will resolve IBS diarrhea and/or constipation, but you have to gradually reach the dose your gut requires for that. The Tummy Fiber is a pure soluble fiber, so it is a bowel regulator, which means it regulates bowel contractions and water content. It cannot turn diarrhea to constipation or vice versa. You will need to gradually get your twice daily dose up to the level your bowel needs for stability. That will be a lower end for diarrhea, a higher end for constipation, and if you normally alternate between d and c your dose range will likely end up in the middle.

If you are prone to diarrhea and that has not resolved, that means you need to continue to gradually increase your dose until there is enough soluble fiber in your gut to normalize motility. When you reach that dose, stay there for maintenance.

Hi Cheryl - hang in there, it's not uncommon for constipation to take a gradual increase to the higher end of the dose range (3-5 tablespoons per day, total) to resolve. Go slow and steady, you should see improvements along the way, and just keep gradually increasing your dose until the constipation has resolved. That is the dose where you'd then stay. Omg it's a miracle
This product and the peppermint caps are healing my 17 year old daughter. It's a miracle. She has been in so much pain for so long with her IBS she has lost weight because she eats and it hurts so she stops. She was 91 pounds and now she is 81 pounds. After reading The First Year, and Cure Constipation Now by Dr W Jones, I started Dr Jones's protocol using Citrucel and was very happy with my results. I wasn't happy with ingesting all that sugar so have switched over to acacia fiber without any adverse effects. I'm using 2 tsp 3 times per day and am very satisfied with my results. So far, so good!
So far this tummy fiber is working out well for me. I was using Metamucil, but found that it made me gassy, so I finally decided to try Heather's tummy fiber. I followed the directions and started slowly, increasing the amount I used every few days. I'm up to 1 teaspoon a day and I think that is what is going to work best for me. Life saving product
I've been using this product about 3 weeks now and it has made a huge difference in my life! I'm taking it slowly as wind in my colon has always been a problem. I started with the recommended dose and am now taking 1 tsp twice daily. My diarrhea has slowed from up to 6 times per day to 1 or 2 normal movements a day. Hi Doreen - thank you so much for your feedback. Please give the fiber at least a few weeks, as you need to start at a low dose and increase gradually. You may work your way up to a tablespoon or two per dayfor diarrhea, or all the way up to four or five tablespoons per day for constipation. But you can't rush this - you have to start with just 1/2 teaspoon twice daily, and increase gradually.

You should see improvements as you go along, and as that happens just keep gradually increasing your dose until you feel truly stable day to day. That's the dose where you would stay.

I am most pleased with the Tummy Fiber now that I have tried it.
About a year ago I tried the peppermint and it was just too strong so didn't try anything else. Attempted to get into a gastroenterologist who would only see me for procedures so decided to try the Tummy Fiber instead. Have lived with IBS for 45 years and, oh, how I wish I had ordered the Tummy Fiber the first time I knew about it. It has made a world of difference for me. Still not sure I'll be able to take more than 3/4ths of a teaspoon as stomach is most sensitive.

Thank You Heather. Tummy Fiber has helped me most with lower abdominal pain and diarrhea issues. After it dissolves, my glass of water is clear and tasteless. In cooler weather I turn my fiber water into peppermint tea and in warmer weather I like to drink my fiber in plain cool water. To help dissolve in the winter when our water is much colder, I start to stir the fiber with warm not hot water and after the fiber starts to dissolve I start adding cool water. I found that stirring with a metal spoon breaks up the fiber a bit more and cuts down on foam. Since this is the first fiber I have ever taken I did started introducing it as a 1/4 teaspoon twice a day for a week then increased it from there. This has helped tremendously and I will definitely be back for more. I also have to say that delivery across the country is fast and I feel appreciated as a customer when I purchase. Keep up the great work!🌷

Hi Val - I am so sorry to hear this. The fiber should never cause discomfort. Did your son start with just 1/2 teaspoon twice daily, and then slowly but steadily increase? If he increased too quickly, that could cause gas and bloating because fiber is literally indigestible. Starting at a low dose, and gradually increasing, will prevent that.

If he is unable to use the fiber please do return for a full refund, there are no time limits and that is never a problem.

Hello Heather - I'm so sorry the hear this. The Tummy Fiber should actually help SIBO. The prebiotic effect of the fiber creates an environment in the bowels of short chain fatty acids, in which healthy gut bacteria thrive. The healthy gut bacteria then keep the bad bacteria in check. Prebiotics should not encourage the growth of unhealthy gut bacteria.

I think this is helping my constipation, but still need more time to make a pronouncement!
Not your fault, but the product was not received until after I had a two week trip, and so then started slowly as directed.... now increasing the dose, and seems to be helping. I am not rushing it, because I want to know the right amount. thank you!

Very Helpful!
I have IBSD and have tried everything from OTC meds to changing my diet. The only thing that has truly helped me has been this fiber product. It took some getting used to but the difference has been worth the wait. I ordered the small packets first and tried it out. Once I saw it helping me I ordered the large container. I sprinkle it in my juice each morning and in my tea at dinner. No more waking up at 3 a.m. having to run to the restroom. I never want to be without this product!

Great for IBD!
Diagnosed with IBD... no pharmaceuticals worked, then once I tried this (starting off small then gradually increasing as instructions say) in addition to the probiotics from my naturalpath doc... ALL my symptoms decreased!

Very happy with product and overall service
I am not pleased with the shipping charge to Canada. My order ships via US parcel post and then gets transferred to Canada Post. The rate is far too high. There are also no retailers in my area that sell your products.

This product is superb
I am in the Uk so it took a while to get the products - however the actual product is fantastic for IBS. IBS-D clears up really quickly and my IBS- C is hugely improved and getting better. I have a new confidence. I wouldn't be without this. The travel sticks are also really useful as you can put them in your bag if you are out for the day.

The best product for IBS
I have had IBS for all of my adult life. This is by far the very best product I have ever used for ISB, and over the years I have tried many. I use it two times a day, and I feel so much better. Took it with me on vacation and it was easy to use and incorporate into my food. I highly recommend this tummy fiber.

This is hands down my favorite tea. I've tried tons of peppermint/tummy teas and this is the only one I enjoy. I have at least one cup a day right before bed.
