Don't leave home without it!
I eat a ketogenic diet, which means I eat a high percentage of fat with any food I intake. Yes, the fat can trigger an episode unless I sip on Tummy Tamer while eating. I even carry a prepared container of it into restaurants! Tummy Tamer has been extremely helpful.

Patience is a Virtue
I have to say that the first time I tried this, I gave up too soon. In desperation, I decided to try again. With patience, I'm on my way. I also have a lot more knowledge this time with soluble/insoluble. Working between that knowledge and acacia tummy fiber, I'm having better success. With both constipation and diarrhea, it's much more difficult, but stick with it. It probably has taken me longer in that I moved with my increases in the acacia much slower and put more time in between increases to see stabilization. One time, I even had problems after increasing and took a step back and decreased it back a little longer. Thus, patience!

So thrilled with this product!
I am 77 years old and have had bowel problems ever since I was young. Even Milk of Magnesia was causing severe cramping and not working too well. It takes a few weeks to get your amount right - I take 3 1/2 tsps in a full glass of water twice a day. I am now doing something I never thought would happen - normal bowel movements every other day, sometimes every day. Thank you God for letting me find this product!!

IT IS WORKING!
My IBS runs from severe diarrhea to constipation and I have despaired of being normal again. But this stuff is working. It is a slow process, building up to being able to take enough to alleviate symptoms, but I am up to a tablespoon a day and my constipation is sloooowly disappearing and I am comfortable again. I have had NO DIARRHEA since I began the regimen and NO CRAMPING! And I am back to successfully eating sourdough bread (my problem is not gluten even though I have been off it for 3+ years on the advice of my gastroenterologist). Even though initially the acacia and the increased soluable fiber bound me up even worse, I have been able to adjust my insoluble fiber intake to begin to return to normal.

Nausea and product didn't thicken with moisture

Product made me nauseated at 1/2 t. 2 X day. Also, I put 1/2 t. in 1 T. water, and it didn't thicken into gel. How can it work if it doesn't thicken? Thanks.

Hi Linda - The tummy fiber is 100% soluble fiber but it has almost no viscosity, so it will not thicken in a drink or in food. This is good, because there is no choking risk, and it will be undetectable in drinks and meals. Soluble fiber works by regulating motility of the bowel and regulating water content within the bowel. That is an action entirely independent on the solubility, and not related at all to viscosity. The fiber should not cause nausea, but you may want to add it to more water than just 1T if you are then drinking that glass. Or just sprinkle over moist foods you are eating. Please keep us posted.

Hi Patricia - I am so sorry to hear this. The tummy fiber cannot cause constipation or diarrhea, or flip one to the other. Soluble fiber is just a motility regulator. It stabilizes contractions to prevent cramps and it normalizes peristalsis. But, it also won't do that job you need it to do until you have enough of it physically present in your gut, and you have to reach that dose gradually. In the meantime, triggers will continue to affect your gut and set off symptoms. Please continue to slowly, steadily increase your dose and you should see symptoms gradually resolve. The fiber can't make anything worse, but it also won't work until you get enough of it in your gut, and you have to work up to that dose.

So far, so good! Working well.
I started using the fiber about 3 weeks ago, gradually increasing the amount so that now I am up to 2 tsp twice a day. I have had fewer IBS-D attacks and in general, feel better. 6 weeks on and definitely noticing change for the better
I have been using this product now for 6 weeks, I started on a low dose ( 1/4 teaspoon ) twice a day and have increased to 1 teaspoon twice a day, it has definitely helped me with urgency and diarrhea, I feel like it has a calming effect on my bowel. Hi Rita - I'm so sorry to hear this. The fiber can't cause cramping or diarrhea, soluble fiber is only a motility regulator. But - you also have to have enough of it in your gut to work, and you have to get to that dose gradually. The normal ½ teaspoon twice daily starting dose won't do anything - it's just to get your gut used to more fiber. Then you gradually increase from there - adding an extra ½ tsp to one of your daily doses, every 3-4 days. Lower doses won't make things worse, but they also won't stop diarrhea or prevent other triggers from hitting your gut hard. An average daily dose for diarrhea typically ends up about 1-2 tablespoons per day. Please keep me posted!

I have been living with IBS-D for over 40 years. Tried other fiber products that didn't work & were unpleasant tasting. Hi Eileen - if constipation has crept back up on you, gradually raise your tummy fiber dose by an extra ½ teaspoon to your morning or evening dose. Give that 3-4 days, and then add an extra ½ tsp to your other daily dose. Follow that process of a slow, steady increase until you reach the new dose your gut needs for constipation. It's not super uncommon that you could get stable, then something else comes along and disrupts your gut, and then you have to gradually increase a bit more to get stable again.

Hi Mary - I am so sorry you are struggling. Did you start at ½ teaspoon twice daily? You want to stay there for 3-4 days, and then add an extra ½ tsp to just one of your doses. Wait 3-4 days and then increase your other dose by an extra ½ tsp. Hi Glenda - I'm so sorry you are having trouble. Please know that the Tummy Fiber cannot cause diarrhea (or constipation). It is just 100% soluble fiber, which is a bowel motility regulator. It does have to be used twice daily, and you have to start at a low dose and increase gradually. You continue to increase gradually until you reach the dose you need in your gut to keep motility stable. That may be several teaspoons to several tablespoons per day, total. But you can't start at the dose you'll end up needing to reach, you have to start low and increase gradually.

You may get or continue to have diarrhea until are able to get your fiber dose up to the level you need. It's not a drug, so it will not work overnight. You should see improvements as your dose increases, and then complete resolution of the diarrhea as you continue. Unfortunately, you can't rush the process.

This product has really helped my problem, although I have not been using very long.
Has really stopped most of my urgent diarrhea problem and along with more strict diet I am doing better with constipation. Really would like to eat more salad and fruit, but almost afraid to do that. I am adding new foods slowly with hopes I do not have a problem with them. Thanks

I I have noticed a increased in improvement in my IBS symptoms.
I have not had a serious episode for almost 2 months and for me that is a miracle. I follow the diet (although I cheat once in a while) and have lost weight and am moving towards a vegan diet. Couldn't Live Without It
I've used the acacia fiber for quite a few years now and credit it with helping me stay comfortable and resolve frequent GI issues. It's most important to control one's diet and steer clear of "trouble" food and drink, but acacia fiber is a great addition to my regimen.
