I truly don't know what I would do without these packets! Not one Dr., nor specialist could/would identify my issue. It's been several years of all types of medications and surgeries, with absolutely little to no quality of life. I couldn't even work. I kept doing my own research and came across your aaahmazing products and just like that, based upon the time of day, frequency and how many packets I use, I'm now able to live a more normal life. I found this brand on Amazon, and when I went back to reorder, to my dismay, they were no longer available. Thank GOD for this website, your products are truly phenomenal! My issue is IBSD, which I never knew existed, and this is self diagnosis, since not one Dr./gastrointestinal or otherwise could tell me nothing. My weight has increased dramatically since this happened and no matter what I do, even with this issue, and exercise with one to two meals per day, the weight just keeps coming. I have been using Heather's Tummy Fiber for a while and it has worked for me. Still have a flare up now and then, maybe stress, maybe I ate the wrong thing. I tried Metamucil in the past and it was way too harsh for my system. Will stick with Heather's Tummy Fiber.

My only complaint is that it seems they've changed where the packaging tears open. It used to tear at the side and it was easy and great. Now it tears at the back where the sides overlap and it's messy and difficult to open.

This stuff is wonderful! It actually works extremely well when taken as directed!
I am 66 years old and have suffered from constipation (sometimes diarrhea when I was younger), gas, bloating and stomach pains since in my 20s. The constipation and discomfort has been significantly worse in the last 10 years. My dr. said it would and just take laxatives.(My colonoscopy showed nothing at all wrong with my colon) I had usually used Metamucil in the past. I tried prescription IBS drugs that were extremely expensive and didn't work for me. After a month of taking Heatherss tummy fiber, along with proper diet, sufficient water and exercise my ability to have normal, daily bowl movements is better than it's been in 40 years! I am amazed! I do admit I am still having some stomach pain which I still have to figure out.

Hi Lois - I am so sorry to hear this. The tummy fiber should not cause nausea at all, it's just plain soluble fiber. You may want to just add the powder right into moist foods with breakfast/dinner and not have it in a cup of liquid. Sometimes for folks who are prone to nausea (and bloating) just having a big glass of liquid can set things off. Please keep us posted, and if you just can't use the tummy fiber please do return for a full refund, no time limits, that is never a problem.

Quality fiber-easy packets to travel with
I have had IBS for more than 20 yrs and at one time was on Lotronex RX for treatment-I was able to get off the medication and use this fiber recommended by a friend in 2003 & by drinking alot of water and using this fiber, my gut stays balanced. Tummy Fiber

Hello, this product came as a recommendation from another company to assist with regularity. I ordered the tummy fiber in hopes that it would help with regular bowel movements...I take the product as recommended - however it does not help me with daily bowel movements. I do appreciate it has no taste to while consuming but did not deliver for the reasons I purchased it.

Hi Katina - Please hang in there, the starting dose of the fiber is not enough to give you results, it's just to start getting your gut used to more fiber. The acacia can't cause diarrhea or flip it to constipation, or vice versa (soluble fiber of any kind can't do that). It's just a regulator, that normalizes bowel motility from either extreme. But, the starting dose is also not enough to give you regularity or stable motility - you have to gradually increase your dose until you reach that point. A rough general ballpark is 2-5 tablespoons per day for total for constipation, but you have to work up to that slowly and steadily. That might end up as quite a few travel packets per day, it may be more practical to measure out the powder from the can or pouch as you get up in to higher doses.

Hi Barbara - I'm so sorry, please hang in there, the tummy fiber cannot cause or worsen diarrhea or constipation, or flip one to the other, but it also won't help you until there is enough of it in your gut 24/7 to regulate motility. In the meantime everything that is impacting your gut will keep impacting it. It's a process to work up your dose of any soluble fiber supplement, and you are still on a very low end if it's only been two weeks.
Details:

There are two kinds of fiber, insoluble and soluble. Insoluble is a stimulant and can set off IBS symptoms, and if you have strictures it can cause intestinal blockages. The tummy fiber is pure soluble fiber so it won't do that - it can't. It's not a stimulant, it's a bowel motility regulator. It can't cause blockages, diarrhea, or constipation, but it also will not help you until you gradually work up to enough of it in your gut, 24/7, to regulate motility.

In the meantime, everything else will keep impacting your gut and you will likely keep fluctuating day to day. The tummy fiber is 100% soluble fiber, it can't make anything worse, but it also will not help you with just the first dose or two, or first few days or two. For constipation, it likely won't help the first week or two either. This is because you are starting at a low dose that won't do anything at all, it is just to get your gut used to more fiber gradually. All fibers are indigestible, so you always want to increase fiber slowly and steadily,

Do not skip doses, do not jump your dose up and then down and then up and then down, do not skip days - none of this will work. This is a process, it can't be erratic, it takes some time and patience, and you have to follow the process consistently, day in and day out, or soluble fiber will not do what you want it to do.

You need to start with just ½ teaspoon twice daily and then gradually increase. Add an extra ½ teaspoon to just one of your doses, every 3-4 days. So add an extra ½ teaspoon to your morning dose, wait 3-4 days and then add an extra ½ teaspoon to your evening dose, wait 3-4 days and then increase your morning dose again, etc. You'll keep following that pattern and gradually work up to the dose your gut needs for normal motility. A rough average final dose for diarrhea is 1-3 Tablespoons per day total, for alternating diarrhea/constipation probably 2-3 Tablespoons per day total, and constipation a likely 3-5 Tablespoons per day total. That shows you the huge dose range, and also how far you will likely have to increase from the starting dose of just ½ teaspoon twice a day.

The fiber cannot make anything worse, but again, until you gradually work up to enough of it in your gut, it won't help you either, because it has to reach the point where it can control your bowel motility. You just will not have enough of it in your gut to affect you at all until you have worked your way far enough into the process.

I will tell you candidly it will probably take you a few months to work up to the dose you would need to resolve chronic constipation, and in the meantime you'll still have symptoms, and you may need to use laxatives if you're already doing that. You should see improvements kick in as you gradually get your dose up around 3 tablespoons per day total, and then you'd keep gradually increasing until you feel stable day and day out. You can't just jump to this dose though - fiber does not work that way. I wish it did! But you have to gradually get your gut used to more fiber, and then reach the point you need for motility regulation. Once you hit that you stay at whatever that dose is, morning and evening, as soluble fiber literally only works when it is physically present in your gut.

Hi Linda - I am so sorry to hear this. Please note that constipation often takes a gradual increase to the higher end of the dose range. The acacia can't make constipation worse, but it also will not help until you work up to enough of it in your gut to regulate motility. Using soluble fiber to resolve constipation is a process, takes a little time and patience. Details:
There are two kinds of fiber, insoluble and soluble. Insoluble is a stimulant and can set off IBS symptoms, and if you have strictures it can cause intestinal blockages.

Soluble fiber won't do that - it can't. It's not a stimulant, it's a bowel motility regulator. It can't cause blockages, diarrhea, or constipation, but it also will not help you until you gradually work up to enough of it in your gut, 24/7, to regulate motility. In the meantime, everything else will keep impacting your gut and you will likely keep fluctuating day to day. The tummy fiber is 100% soluble fiber, it can't make anything worse, but it also will not help you with just the first dose or two, or first few days or two. For constipation, it likely won't help the first week or two either. This is because you are starting at a low dose that won't do anything at all, it is just to get your gut used to more fiber gradually. All fibers are indigestible, so you always want to increase fiber slowly and steadily,

Do not skip doses, do not jump your dose up and then down and then up and then down, do not skip days - none of this will work. This is a process, it can't be erratic, it takes some time and patience, and you have to follow the process consistently, day in and day out, or soluble fiber will not do what you want it to do.

You need to start with just ½ teaspoon twice daily and then gradually increase. Add an extra ½ teaspoon to just one of your doses, every 3-4 days. So add an extra ½ teaspoon to your morning dose, wait 3-4 days and then add an extra ½ teaspoon to your evening dose, wait 3-4 days and then increase your morning dose again, etc. You'll keep following that pattern and gradually work up to the dose your gut needs for normal motility. A rough average final dose for diarrhea is 1-3 Tablespoons per day total, for alternating diarrhea/constipation probably 2-3 Tablespoons per day total, and constipation a likely 3-5 Tablespoons per day total. That shows you the huge dose range, and also how far you will likely have to increase from the starting dose of just ½ teaspoon twice a day.

The fiber cannot make anything worse, but again, until you gradually work up to enough of it in your gut, it won't help you either, because it has to reach the point where it can control your bowel motility. You just will not have enough of it in your gut to affect you at all until you have worked your way far enough into the process.

I will tell you candidly it will probably take you a few months to work up to the dose you would need to resolve chronic constipation, and in the meantime you'll still have symptoms, and you may need to use laxatives if you're already doing that. You should see improvements kick in as you gradually get your dose up around 3 tablespoons per day total, and then you'd keep gradually increasing until you feel stable day and day out. You can't just jump to this dose though - fiber does not work that way. I wish it did! But you have to gradually get your gut used to more fiber, and then reach the point you need for motility regulation. Once you hit that you stay at whatever that dose is, morning and evening, as soluble fiber literally only works when it is physically present in your gut.

Life changer !
This product has me living life again. I had gallbladder removed almost a year ago, lost 20 pounds and was miserable as nothing I ate stayed with me. I finally caved and started taking script meds 3x daily until I learned about this product. I have been using a teaspoon daily and I'm down to taking script med 1x a day ! This stuff is a lifesaver...

Did not work as I had hoped

I was hoping the was the magic bullet for my IBD. After doing much research I decided to try Heather's product. Sadly, it did not see results or remedy for my symptoms.

Hi Patti - I'm so sorry to hear this. For the fiber, it is important that you start with a low dose twice daily and gradually increase. You may need to eventually work your way up to several tablespoons per day, total, to resolve symptoms. Diarrhea usually resolves at a lower dose than constipation. The starting dose is just 1/2 teaspoon twice daily, and that is just to get your gut used to more fiber. Then you would gradually increase, and keep gradually increasing, until you feel you are stable.

If you cannot get good results please do return everything for a full refund.
