| Decades of Struggle - until I found Heather's | |
| I have struggled with constipation my whole life and last year had a diagnosis of Collagenous Colitis. Traditional fiber products made my symptoms worse. I have used Heather's for 3 months. I followed the directions to slowly increase the dosage and stuck with it the first month out of desperation. Finally on month 2, I started to see results. Now, the constipation is gone and I am experiencing a new normal. My only complaint is that the product has a very narrow temperature range at which it will dissolve. | I have been using this fiber product for six years, as originally recommended by the medical staff at John Bastyr. I developed gut issues at the same time I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. I was prescribed Metformin HCL, which did wonders for my numbers, but also aggravated my gut issue problem, where problems occurred in the middle of the night. With a change in diet (no milk or cheese) and taking the fiber twice a day, it has helped me control my issues with the colon. I used to be able to obtain Heather's Tummy Fiber at Vitamin Life in Downtown Redmond, but they closed the retail store and switched to purely online sales. Not sure if this is because I have microscopic colitis and IBS although I really haven't had a doctor diagnose IBS. | This acacia fiber is just as Heather has described--it has been very helpful for my gut. I've gradually increased my dose as she recommends, and I think I've finally gotten to the amount I need. I have mixed the Tummy Fiber with water on a 1 tsp. to 1 tablespoon water ratio so that I always have about one cup of liquified Tummy Fiber ready in a jar in the frig. This makes it super-convenient to put a tablespoon of the liquid (equivalent to about 2 grams fiber) into drinks or soup. | I discovered Heather many years ago. The advice I received on the website and in her book was invaluable after undergoing gal bladder surgery. Many of the concepts are still with me today (as well as the medication highlighted in a box in the book). Fast forward many years: when my now young-adult daughter was diagnosed with severe constipation, I immediately thought of Heather and the Tummy Fiber as an alternative to the over-the-counter chemicals they recommended she ingest. She successfully transitioned from the chemical to the Tummy Fiber, taking her time, and just this morning she enthusiastically told me the Tummy Fiber "works great!" and continued to explain that her digestion has never been better! | I've gotten intermittent stomach aches my whole life. No one has ever been able to figure out why although certain foods make it more likely and stress makes it more likely… But I don't have a clear diagnosis. Someone told me about this product and I've been using it for almost a year and I've gotten a total of two stomach aches since I started it! I used to get about one a week so that is a fantastic improvement! | |
